Understanding cavities!

We're always available to answer any questions you may have about brushing.Dental caries is one of the most common oral problems, but also one of the easiest to prevent.

Cavities form when bacteria in the mouth convert sugars in food into acids, which gradually attack tooth enamel. If left untreated, decay can worsen, reaching deep into the tooth and causing pain, infection or tooth loss.

Prevention is based on rigorous hygiene (twice-daily brushing, dental floss/interdental brushes), a balanced diet, limiting sugary foods, and regular visits to the dentist to detect cavities at an early stage.

If a cavity is present, treatment depends on its extent: from a simple filling to root canal therapy, or even a crown if the tooth is badly damaged. If caught in time, a cavity is easy to treat. The key is vigilance and prevention!
