EODEC Togo

In early 2009, the European Oral and Dental Education Center (EODEC) set up a dental practice in Lomé, Togo, one of Africa's smallest countries, as part of a humanitarian initiative.

The population of Togo is approximately 8 million, with only 43 dentists.

In addition, there is no university training for dentists in Togo; they are trained in Senegal.

The vast majority of the population do not have the means to pay for dental care.

The aim of EODEC's dentists is to provide dental care for orphaned and destitute children in Lomé and the surrounding villages.
